ABOUT A NAPPTURAL BEAUTY
My natural hair journey started in September of 2010. I experienced a brief relapse in 2012 when I went back to using relaxer aka creamy crack, but experience some breakage and decided to go back to my natural roots. Being natural is no joke. In my honest opinion, it is harder to maintain natural hair than it is to maintain relaxed hair. Being natural requires that you maintain a strict regimen to prevent breakage and promote growth. This can be difficult if you have a busy schedule like I do. For more on my story, please read my biography section of this blog. Below, I have posted some photos from before my first big chop, my return back to relaxers, and my second big chop. I will continue to document my journey and provide some helpful information for those of you who are considering going natural, have done the big chop, and those of you who are veterans.
This site is for all who are natural, have done the big chop, or are seasoned veterans. It is a place where we can share our stories, and help each other through this wonderful journey. We encourage all our readers to comment, share photos, experiences (good and bad), and recipes to help us naturals take better care of our hair.
Our focus is more than hair. We aim to discuss various topics such as beauty, lifestyle, and health; all of which can impact our well-being. Product reviews will be conducted, and video tutorials will be available to help you take care of and style your hair, create various looks using cosmetics, and anything else we may find interesting and worth reviewing.
